Non-Immigrant ED Visa Extension for foreign Students in Thailand.
Foreign students who hold Non-ED Visa would like to extend their stay in Thailand for study at Government or Private Educational
Institute. He/she must apply for visa extension at least 30 days before expire date. In general, the permit will be extended for maximum 1 year or the mentioned date on a letter of acceptance to the school or academic institue and according to the decision making of Immigration officer. During waiting for the result, foreigners are permitted to stay in Thailand until the consideration is finished.
Remarks: According to the criteria and rules of Immigration Bureau.

1. Please send us the below required docuemtns to prepare Form TM.7:
Copy of applicant's passport (Biodata page, Visa page, Permit stamp, Last arrival stamp, Re-entry stamp (if any), Departure card (TM.6)
- Letter of confirmation and request for a temporary stay, issued by the Educational Institution,which shows information about the applicant’s years of education, level of curriculum, and educational achievement.
- Copy of Student ID Card.
- Copy of Enrollment of current semester with copy of receipt. (Only full program)
- Copy of Course Outline and time table (Only non-school student)

2. Required documents of the applicant:
- Application Form TM.7
- 1 Recent photo 4 x 6 cms. in size.
- Passport with at least 6 months validity remaining (Biodata Page) and copy.
In the case of Study in a Government Educational Institution:
- Letter of confirmation and request for a temporary stay, issued by the educational institution, which shows information about the applicant’s years of education, level of curriculum, and educational achievement.
- Copy of Enrollment of current semester with copy of receipt. (Only full program).
- Copy of Course Outline and time table (Only non-school student)
In the case of Study in a Private Educational Institution:
- Copy of evidence of permission to establish the Educational Institution issued by the relevant government agency.
- Letter of confirmation and request for a temporary stay, issued by the educational institution,which shows information about the applicant’s years of education, level of curriculum, and educational achievement.
- Confirmation letter issued by a Government Agency at the departmental level or by the Provincial Governor in charge of that particular institution (except in the case of enrollment in an international school or in the case of higher education)
- Student ID Card (or Research ID Card)
- Enrollment of current semester and Receipt of Registration (current semester) only full program student with copy.
- Copy of Course Outline and Time Table (Only Non-School System)
All copy of required documents must certify true copies:
1. Applicant (Foreign student) : must certify true copy of all documents.
2. Educational Institution (School or University) :The School/University Authorized Sinatory must sign to cerify all documents and have them stamped with the University or School's official seal on every page.

Non-Immigrant ED Visa Extension (Criteria for Consideration)
Foreign students who hold Non-ED Visa would like to extend their stay in Thailand for study at Government or Private Educational
Institute. He/she must apply for visa extension at least 30 days before expire date. In general, the permit will be extended for maximum 1 year or the mentioned date on a letter of acceptance to the school or academic institue and according to the decision making of Immigration officer. During waiting for the result, foreigners are permitted to stay in Thailand until the consideration is finished.
During waiting for application status, foreign students are permitted to stay in Thailand for 30 days or until the consideration is finished.
- In the case of Study in Government or Private Educational Institution, in general the period will be valid for 1 year.
- In the case of Study in Non-School System, the period of stay is not exceeding 90 days with totally not exceeding 1 year, counted on the granted by an immigration officer upon arrival at the port of entry to Thailand. Non-School System must be Seminary, Arts & Sports School, Cram School, Montessori School according to the condition of The Office of The Private Education Commission.
After the foreign student is permitted for temporary stay 1 year visa, Form TM.47 is a must to submit immediately for extend his/her stay in the Kingdom of Thailand. Reporting their home address to the Immigration Bureau every 90 days. Failure to report your address in the given period may result in fines up to 5,000 baht and even arrest. (Report 4 times/year).
Students holding one-year extension visa who plan to spend their holidays outside of Thailand need to apply for a single or multiple re-entry permit (TM.8) before their departure. Otherwise their visa will be invalidated and they will have to go through the whole process of getting the proper student visa at a Thai Embassy or Consulate outside Thailand. The re-entry permit can be obtained at the local Immigration Bureau.
